With Sparta Historical Society currently celebrating its 20th anniversary, we invited Bill Truran, our current Sussex County Historian to present his lecture on Sparta history.  We will look at the influence of the township as a Revolution forage, turnpike stop, resource for ice and lumber and a respite from the city stresses with lakes as well as respite for travelers.
