Engelbrect's reputation as a photographer was established as the personal photographer of  John D. Rockefeller's personal photographer. He contributed to nationwide photo agencies as Pathe, Universal Newsreel and Movietone.  Englebrecht is remembered in  Sparta as a community photographer.
